【Book】美を脳から考える Beauty and the Brain

美的感性には、人類共通のものと、文化的なものがある。この本は主に前者、先天的な部分についてです。

序文では「事物の美はそれを想う心に宿る」というディビッド・ヒュームの言葉をひいています。おそらくその説明を脳の構造に求めているのだと思われますが、それはちょっと大雑把すぎるように思います。

If you categolize sense of beauty to two; universal one for all human beings and cultural one, this book is about former one.

It cites David Hume's words in the first chapter. "Beauty in things exist in the mind which contemplates them". It seems that this book find the explanation of it in biological structure of our brain and I think it might be a bit too rough.
