International Circulation of News

When we watch news from developing countries, why they are always, always about misery such as natural disasters, wars, corruptions...etc... There aren't anything more than misery? Reputation and image of the countries are formed by what media tell us. Mass-media project what their viewers want to see. And do we, the viewers wish to see their misery? Of course reports on such big incidents are important. But are they proportionate?

The idea of Equality of Information seems unfortunately uncommon yet. It seems as if nobody remembers what was the MacBride Round Table on Communication. If you see debating community, it is clear that it is not. I'm irritated so much at the slow, slow, very slow improvement on this issue. But that is also why I feel such a huge happiness with each small step forward. :)
